Dr. Joe Newell has been a dentist in private practice in the Philadelphia area for over 35 years, serving all kinds of patients: professionals, families, children, seniors, and those with special needs. He aims for excellence, putting the needs of his patients first.
In addition to his private dental practice, Dr. Newell has trained and mentored dental students as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Dr. Newell’s teaching career began after he graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. degree in 1975 and from Temple University with a D.D.S. degree in 1979. He taught at Temple Dental School for ten years and served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry.
In 2002, he returned to teaching, but this time at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Newell’s focus has always been on excellence in restorative dentistry, and he tried to instill those values in his students.
Dr. Newell is a member of many dental organizations and study clubs. One unique area of Dr. Newell’s expertise is gold dentistry, which requires an especially high level of craftsmanship and skill. He participates in many continuing education courses to stay current with all the latest technologies.
Dr. Newell has been happily married for over 30 years and is the proud father of two children.
Dr. Newell has been the President of both the Academy of Gold Foil Operators and Tucker Academy.
